Permanent Makeup Tattoo Removal/Lightening

Saline lightening involves inserting a sterile saline solution into the skin above the tattoo using either a hand tool or tattoo machine for permanent makeup tattoo removal, much like the process of getting permanent makeup.  The salt solution is gently worked over and around the inked area using specialized techniques to break up the pigment. Over 8 week intervals between sessions, the body’s immune response gradually flushes away the pigment particles safely.

Does it hurt?
Salt in open wounds typically hurt! Luckily, we use numbing cream that will make the procedure much more comfortable! 

How many sessions will I need?
Many factors play into how many sessions it could take like how deep the tattoo is, type of pigments used, how old it is, and your body. Most clients see results in 1-5 sessions. More complex cases are referred out for Laser Removal.

Who shouldn’t get saline removal? 

• pregnant or nursing
• clotting disorder or on blood thinners
• prone to keloid scarring
• diagnosed with HIV, Hepatitis, or other Viral Infectious Diseases
• skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema
• sunburned skin
• minors
• on antibiotics-must be off at least 2 weeks
• accutane use-must be off for one year

What is the healing process?

• Keep the area clean and open to the air.  Do not cover.  Oxygen provides good, fast healing.  
• Do not touch the area.  If you must, have exceptionally clean hands.
• Clean by blotting the area with saline 3-4 time a day using gauze or paper towels. NO ICE
• Keep it dry.  No direct bathing, swimming, saunas, hot tubs, tanning or exercise.  NO EXCEPTIONS
• Do not disrupt the scabbing process, DO NOT PICK. The scabs need to fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring.

Once all the scabs have fallen naturally, apply one drop of Vitamin E Oil  3-4 times daily for a minimum of 4 weeks or until next session.

It is of the utmost importance that the skin has 8 full weeks of healing before another session can be done.  NO EXCEPTIONS

The amount of session required depends on many factors to achieve desired results.

Lightening to remove unwanted pigment is a long process and patience is required.  Results cannot be foreseen or guaranteed.

EMERGENCY REMOVAL

If you have gotten a permanent makeup procedure that you are unhappy with, Emergency Removal/Lightening can be performed up to 48 hours after getting your procedure in one session. We sometimes can get results up to 72 hours after but 48 is preferred.
